Not exactly what I was expecting, but definitely a good read nonetheless.

More serious YA with a little bit of romance. I liked the way this book showed the impact of managing family trauma (both from Violet’s and Liv’s experiences) and used the “shipwreck gene” as a metaphor for mental illness and learning to be a survivor.
