A continuation of the story started in Witchling. I much preferred the voice of Delilah of Camille.

From my blog Auntie Spinelli Reads

3.5/5

Yasmine Galenorn is so talented at creating a convincing, realistic world! I love to live in the world she paints; it's my favorite part of this book for sure. I didn't enjoy Changeling quite as much as I enjoyed Witchling, but it was still a good entertaining read.

Delilah is my favorite of the three D'Artigo sisters because, after all, she's a werecat. And anybody who knows anything about me knows I LOOOOVE cats! I was really looking forward to reading her POV. I really enjoyed the scenes were she was in cat form - although there weren't all that many - and I feel like the essence of a cat is captured very well. Especially the scene with the Christmas tree, that had me cracking up because I have the same problem with my own cats!

Something I love about the Otherworld is that there is rarely a lack of danger and action. I loved the mystery of the murders and the creepiness of the Hunters Moon Clan. Werespiders?! *cringe* I have a serious case of arachnophobia, so the parts with the spiders had my skin crawling hardcore! Don't mind me, I'll just be off in a corner whimpering in the fetal position....

The pacing wasn't quite as fast as the first book, and I think that's what hindered my enjoyment of the story. It dragged in a few places and I found myself growing a bit bored at times. But it wasn't enough to cause any real irritation, and definitely not enough to make me not want to continue the series. I think this series has a great potential and I can't wait to delve deeper into the magic of the Otherworld!

Favorite character: Maggie, the gargoyle. The fluffy gargoyle. I want one!!

re-read

Etrange comme cela me parait un peu plus laborieux avec plus "d'expérience" dans le genre.
Pas désagréable mais un peu maladroit par moment. Traduction ou début de série je ne sais pas trop.

Finally I gave up on this series. This book has been on my currently reading shelf for ages, but now I changed the status to dnf. I just couldn't muster any interest in the story of characters. I guess the writing is okay, this series is just not for me.

Second volume and new P.o.v. this time it's Delilah a cat shifter. Now shifters are usually my favorites supernatural characters but here, well, it seemed somehow pathetic. She is not really having any time of animal instincts. And why are there "passionate scenes" in there? There is no point of putting them here!!! It was so frustrating! (especially since these are the scene I usually dislike in these types of books). Yet for a shifter's p.o.v. there was not the sort of "instinct pull" that is the best shifters characteristic as it is present for example in Mercy Thompson. I hope Menolly will be a bit better even if vampires are usually the worst supernatural characters in novels....
