Very serviceable recounting of the tuberculosis epidemic in New York up to the advent of the first cure. It is a little gory in the first 100 pages in its depictions of surgeries, but that dies off. It's also prone to embellishment/novelization; something to note if you're not into novelizing your non-fiction.
Moderate: Gore
