Each book in this series raises the stakes for the protagonist and everyone she cares about, and this one really leans into the biological warfare plot that has been developing throughout. Like Nightmare, I think Danger is a decent addition to the Growing Up In The Midst Of A Pandemic starter kit.

The writing also does an effective job of showing the readers the very real and very dark internal struggles the child agents are facing now that even more secrets about their identities have been uncovered. They may be genetically altered by powers outside of their control, but they still have to process personal crises just like any other kid and that can be a powerful outlet for young readers who also struggle with similar thoughts and feelings.
