I cannot commend enough how well written this biography of the F1 sport is. I have never seen an F1 race, never heard the name of an F1 driver, nor ever had any interest in the sport outside of thinking it's cool to drive fast competitively. The authors describe a company engulfed in intrigue and scandal. They provide a gritty peek behind the curtain of apparently a famously secretive and reclused sport, as well as its burst into the mainstream, away from being a rich mans' hobby. Every page left me eagerly reading to see what came next. To be quite honest, it's the technical scandals and business maneuvering described in this book that has me most interested in following Formula 1, which maybe shouldn't be all that surprising since the book ends with the frequently repeat world champion saying himself that racing isn't even fun to him anymore because there's no competition when he's so far out ahead from 2nd place.

I LOVED this. If you are a formula 1 fan, it gives a ton of insight into the recent history of the sport and explains some of the "boogeymen" you may have heard about. I listened to the audiobook and it was almost like listening to a gossip magazine. The writing is really engaging and the way the chapters are set up makes the book flow well.

Even if you don't care about f1, there are tons of interesting tid bits about sports marketing, engineering, and economics that.
