If not for the book club I was reading it for, I think I would have stopped halfway through. The descriptions of nature and the landscape were beautiful, but I didn’t really resonate or find any of the characters of their plot lines particularly meaningful. The ending for me was quite abrupt and I left the book feeling jilted.

Only Barbara Kingsolver could get me, a person terrified of moths and without a survival skill to her name, to have the urge to move into the woods and live out my days as a moth-watching wilderness keeper. Characters as loveable as ever, and a beautiful book to read during the springtime.
