“Pretty” is the word that comes to mind with this book. It was beautifully written and I loved the 3 distinct but intertwined storylines. The perspectives were so varied - I really enjoyed the characters she created that allowed for an authentic feeling representation of a small Appalachian farming town. I really found myself looking forward to sitting down to read this one.

A little more descriptive writing for my taste, Just get to the point. Love the interconnectedness of the characters and town but felt this story could have ended a bit more resolved. I much would have preferred to have just read Lusa's story.

I liked this book.  I am a Kingsolver fan and think she is an amazing writer.  I liked the characters and how the main characters all wove together in the in.  It did get a little predictable, but not not terribly so.  It does get a little steamy as well, but not on the level of YA these days, so it was fine.  The story flowed well and I liked the ending even though I assumed this was how it would wrap up

Another really wonderful read by Barbara Kingsolver! The way she weaves people's lives together and shows connections to the world around us is beautiful and inspiring!

Strong, independent, figuring it out, badass nature ladies.

I’m here for it!

This is a really beautifully written book, I think a nature girl would appreciate that aspect even more than I did. The 3 storylines tie up nicely. It is funny reading a Barbara Kingsolver novel, she loves to set up two characters to just debate a topic that interests her - as usual that is scattered in here.
