I always enjoy a book with multiple perspectives and the progression of the plot was good. The resolution feels a little anticlimactic.
once Roan was shown to be having an affair it was suspicious and then we find out about Harrison and it’s obvious it was going to be a combination

The last chapter had a little shock but other than that I didn’t find it a real page turner with any twists and turns but I also read a lot of crime genre books.

Started out as the worst book I’d picked up in awhile, but about 75% through the plot really settled into itself and took shape. The changing narration perspective was a bit watt-pad-esque at times but overall a satisfying end to a relevant modern thriller.

Lisa Jewell never disappoints! It was my 5th book by her and I enjoyed it so much!
The story follows 3 different POV's. Saffyre is one of them. When she was 10 something bad happened to her. After being in psychological care for 3 years by the renowned child psychologist Roan Fours, he decides that she is no longer in need of him. Saffyre starts looking for other ways to connect with him until she disappears on Valentine's night.
Owen, a recently suspended teacher is kind of creepy and a nobody. He is the prime suspect in Saffyre's disappearence.
Lastly there is Cate, Roan's wife who is feeling that something is very off.
All three characters tell the same story from their own unique perspective. I enjoyed all POVs equally and it was a real page turner for me! I just had to know how the story would progress!
The story also dives into the world of "incels" which placed another layer of creepiness on one of the characters.
This thriller was very character-driven and I loved how the story unraveled through the different POVs, I simply couldn't put it down and I highly recommend. I think it's the perfect book for a grey and rainy day!

I’m always a fan of Jewell. She writes mysteries that are more just… suspenseful. I kept trying to guess what had happened and I needed to know. But this one also dealt with a lot
of sexual assault. Not necessarily super graphic. But very much a main part of the plot.
