I have a special place in my reading heart set aside for Stephen King novella collections. The weight of the overarching impact the Vietnam War has on these stories is heavy and apparent. There are references to The Dark Tower in here that were beyond me, but did just enough to push this dramatic series into a slight fantastical setting that I was not expecting.

Big win for Serious Stephen (I'd say this is not substantially more or less profound, overall, than either most of Vonnegut, or Lethem's Dissidents' Gardens), although, as with every one of his big novels (as well as with a portion of short ones), it seems like it could stand to lose a couple dozen pages.
Funny that a baseball glove ends up being this book's feather from Forrest Gump. The most American symbol to frame the most American book of the most American of authors. Fitting, I guess.

Nach der ersten hälfte dachte ich, dass es eine 10 wird aber dann kam die zweite hälfte und alles fiel in sich zusammen.
