Was prompted to read this because I finished the first two books in the Mercedes trilogy. This after I swore off King forever. But it was an old one and had much to recommend it. I could live without Low Men but I loved Ted Brautigan.

Eh. Just not special.

This book has it all. I remember being blown away when I read it for the first time because it was unlike any other King novel I had read. One of his best.

Not the best of books, but an interesting style none the less. This books contains multiple stories, somehow tied together, during the lifetime of a couple of kids from the same neigborhood, and others they meet along their lives. It's heavily Vietnam-oriented, which I didn't really expect. Can't say I recommend this, but there were some interesting characters.
