challenging dark emotional hopeful mysterious slow-paced

The first time I read this, probably 9 years ago, I hated it. I don't know what's changed between now and then, but I thoroughly enjoyed it this time around. I'm not entirely sure I GOT it all, but I liked it all.

Ah, this is the Stephen King I know and love. When I started the book, I thought it was a short story or novella collection, but I was pleasantly surprised to find that it was a collection of interconnected tales, each one heartbreaking in its own way. Here's a fine example of a King story that just barely dabbles in magic or the supernatural, and draws heavily on nostalgia and the evocative decade of the '60s. I loved it.
dark emotional tense medium-paced

I did DNF this book but I read up through the main parts with Bobby and Teds. after them it just switch to kind of a different story, which I'm sure ties into the first because they've already mentioned Carol. But I had completely lost interest at that point. :/

Not necessarily what I was expecting, but not a bad read. I can't say I'll be reading it again though.

There's some truly beautiful writing here.

Un po noiosino per essere del Re, anni 70, vietnam, pacifismo e giochi di carte...
