I had my doubts about this book until about two thirds of the way in! It seemed to be more of a collection of unconnected crimes and outcomes. But then Lucy Clayburn leapt onto her Ducati M900 motorbike, engaged in a hurtling escape from an F type Jag and a Yamaha YZF600 and things roared off to a very satisfying conclusion. Actually things had hotted up quite substantially before that but the chase was the icing on the cake! I’m going to backtrack and read book 1 and then more!

A female police officer in Manchester.. whose father is a known criminal. Lucy works on a spate of robberies in the area. this is the second in the series but the first I have read. Thanks to Netgalley and Avon Books UK for a copy of this book to read and review

Paul Finch is a new author for me with the exception of the first book in this series I have not read anything by him. Just like the first book this was fast paced easy to read and exciting. I wish there was more character development but all and all a solid read

Another new author for me but not a story I really enjoyed.
DC Lucy Clayburn is a female cop in Manchester. Her father, although very few know it, is a dangerous gangster. Lucy is working hard at solving her cases as well as trying to make it onto the Robbery Squad. She's dealing with numerous robberies and violent offenders and eventually stumbles onto a link between cases that may prove deadly.
The idea sounds great but again I found there was way too much going on for just one story. A lot of characters that it's hard to keep everyone straight. There's also the use of regional language and slang that makes the book a little hard to follow at times. Even though there is so much gong on the outcome is still pretty predictable.
