Well well well… Kristin Hannah really bloody went for it didn’t she? She held back no punches. I’m finished with the book but I actually think the book finished me.

Review to come

What a beautiful story with fantastic characters and a well structured plot and stunning prose. What more could you want in a book? Oh wait, got it to reduce you to tears on multiple occasions - yup, Kristin Hannah has got you covered on that front too.

The Nightingale was truly heartbreaking. There were so many moments that I found myself holding my breath or beginning to cry! If you’ve not read The Nightingale, you should. We follow two sisters with an estranged relationship live their lives in France during WWII. Both sisters with different personalities and different mechanisms on how they want to survive during this time under German occupation. The way Kristin Hannah wrote this was exceptional, it was slow paced but beautifully descriptive - she did not waste a single word. This story and these characters are going to be with me for a while.

Never have I EVER cried this much to a book before. Scratch that, never at any event in my life. That was insane. I was sobbing. Like could not breathe crying.
