4 stars - a beautiful gripping read that lives up to the hype. Is it perfect? No? Does that matter as you get swept up by the story? No

i really tried to love this book and i enjoyed parts but i had to MAKE myself finish this book it was so hard because i just couldn’t truly get into it

trigger warnings for this book important to know before going in: antisemitism, sexual assault, graphic nazi & wwII imagery (including inside a concentration camp)

weeping as I write this right after finishing this book. an important dialogue on bravery, grief, resilience, love, and devastating loss. not necessarily a FUN read, but an important one.

This is probably a very good book, I am just not in the right headspace to consume it.
