“This world is filled with infinite possibilities. Some are in our control and some aren't. Meeting you was out of my control, but loving you was something I had complete and total control of. You’re my most favorite and unexpected possibility, and I don’t want to stop exploring the endless possibilities life has to offer as long as you’re in it.”

“Life may not have turned out the way I wanted, but in the end, it turned out to be everything I needed.”

TJ and Lola meet at his birthday party in Miami. The two of them hit it off, but end up going their separate ways. They don’t see each other again until they are both juniors at the same college. Lola is a new transfer student, with a 2 year old son, Phoenix, she is raising with her best friends, after her parents disowned her. She quickly finds out her son’s dad is at the same school, and that's where their love story begins.

They both face ups and downs of being college students and young parents, including TJ reacting badly to the news that he was her son’s dad. It was understandable to a point. Young, popular basketball player, headed to the NBA equals having to be wary of everyone, but it was still an eye roll moment. But TJ gets it together and steps up. He finds himself willing to do anything for his little family.

It was also beautiful to read about how Lola navigated her parents’ disowning her and really came out on top.
