I really enjoyed this book. I think it was right up my alley since I love the secret baby trope, and it was executed quite well. I don't really have much to say on anything other than the characters because the plot was nonexistent. For a book that's around 500 pages, I think there should have been more going on with the plot. I personally think there should have been more of Phoenix and better plot moments. like a scene with him at the hospital because something happened OR a confrontation scene with Lola's parents. They were mentioned several times but never really made an appearance. I don't know what else to say because it's not a memorable read, but I enjoyed it for the most part.

Lola: Nothing good or bad about her character; I think she's a solid FMC. I liked how her insecurities after giving birth were explored. I'm not a mother, but I think it's a common thing to go through after going through such a change in your body. Also, the mention of her postpartum depression was a good addition.

TJ: He's okay. I do like his character development because at the beginning of the book, I loved him, but then the time jump happened, and he was just not the best character. The way he reacted towards Lola after telling him about phonix and how he treated her was not it. although I didn't love it, it was very realistic when he's used to girls doing anything to get his attention, and might I add, Lola and him were strangers. They didn't know each other and then they confidently reconnect and he apparently has a kid with her? I would also be doubtful if i was him, just didn'r really like the way he express it.

Phoenix; love him, he's a cutie patootie, but I needed more. Most of the time when I read a secret baby trope, I like to have a lot of the kid. And sure, he's in it a lot, but I feel like other books have done better with including the baby more.

{not just this book}

I don't know why this is ignored in all the sports romances, but the MMC is usually always harassed and r@ped by girls and is never addressed. Because why are girls touching his parts without him consenting, sneaking into his room without him knowing (to the point he now always locks his doors), and insisting when he has said no? This happens to girls a lot, but when it happens to a guy, it's never really taken seriously.

Really enjoyed this! I read the second book in this series first, so I was looking forward to this one and it did not disappoint!! The tension, the development, the overall story all so well done. Such a good light hearted read!
