The Spy
Kingmakers
By: Sophie Lark
Narrated by: Antonio Turner, Avie Paige, Connor Brown

Sophie Lark gives us the conclusion to her incredible Kingmakers series with The Spy. This is the culmination of all the Easter eggs that have been dropped, flat out hints and suspense like no other of book of the series! This story features Aries and Nix's budding relationship and a sprinkling of Sabrina, all bringing their own parts to this stunning conclusion. Nix wanted to go to Kingmakers, and despite her father's warnings, she began her journey. Aries has been watching her, and while her family's reputation preceded her, Aries became her friend. Slowly their relationship evolved, and feelings grew. Or did they? Secrets, deceptions, and growing passion, this book holds a bit of everything. But it stands out from the others with it's unpredictable conclusions! Twists, turns, and so many surprises, Lark had me thinking and remembering little bits from the other books, as things slowly fell into place. It's an amazing ending to this series!

And the narration for this is impeccable. Antonio Turner is fantastic as Aries. He holds all the anger and emotions of a man who has been keeping it in for so long. You can hear it all in his performance. Avie Paige becomes Nix, creating a character that while a little naive, she has a strength and bravado while never letting go of her true feelings. And Connor Brown gives us the past, letting us learn what is the root cause of the problems, with a performance that should not be missed. This is a fantastic team of narrators and a wonderful listen.

This book was everything! I couldn't read it fast enough. I’m not going to say much about it since this whole book is supposed to be a secret. I’m just in LOVE and that's it.

Ok — so while I loved learning The Spy’s story, I loved the enemies to lovers and “touch her you die” vibes — there was not nearly as much stuff from Kingmakers in here. It was all about mafia stuff going on on the outside. This book showed me that I am not a mafia book girlie and that’s okay, but I won’t be reading the Brutal series or the other mafia romances from Sophie Lark. I really like her writing and it’s nothing against her story telling abilities but the mafia world isn’t my favorite. I wanted to read about teenagers being young and in love and petty drama and mafia classes and stuff — this one focused too much on The Spy’s revenge plan outside of Kingmakers. However, the clues in Books 1-3 leading up to the Spy’s reveal. 10/10. Honestly it’s a really well done series, it’s just not for me!

One thing I can always count on with Sophie, is that she will deliver on all of her final books in her series. The Spy was everything that I didn’t know I needed and Sophie tied all the story lines that we were still questioning. Even though she tied everything up all nice and beautifully, she also created a world where she could really write about all of these other side characters and other mafias.

Now onto The Spy and Nix. I absolutely loved them and I loved Nix’s strength. The fact that she was tall and The Spy is taller and finds her height sexy…that had me done for because as a fellow tall girl (not that tall but I’m taller than most) it’s really hard out here in these streets lol

Any whom, I absolutely loved the storyline, I loved the plot, I loved the characters, I loved seeing characters from Underworld ESPECIALLY Ivan and Sloane!

But what I loved the most was that the epilogue included POVs from Dean, Zoe, and Leo. It was absolute perfection.

Oh my my my...this book. I just couldn't wait to get my hands on this book to find out who the spy was and book friends you will be floored probably like I was. This book was absolutely wonderful and the final book in the Kingmakers series and boy am I bummed about that. I first fell in love with Sophie's book's after reading Bk 1 The Freshman up to this book and now I'm a fan. I can't wait to see what's coming next whatever it is I'm here for it. I'm not going to give things away, but if you've been reading the series you don't want to miss this as secrets are told as well as lies revealed and holey moley the hot af smexy times were off the charts. This is definitely a must read.

The Spy took us back to Kingmakers with the large cast of characters and it was an explosive and exciting story.
The relationship of these characters that was built on lies and deceit and then blossomed into so much more.
I was drawn into the encompassing love of the other characters in this book.
The connection of friends who come together and support each other no matter what the circumstances is what makes this series addicting and loved so much.

Oh my goodness here I go writing another review for this incredible series. I’m so happy with the way this book wrapped up, it couldn’t have been more perfect! Nix and Rafe are that one couple that shows the other what they are missing and they remind me of a perfect circle completing one another in ways that no one else could. I know that these books can be read as standalones but seriously the way everything just comes together is insane! Please read this series in order, you won’t regret it!
