The main couple’s first meeting was beyond adorable, and the humor in this book is *chef’s kiss*.
However, and that’s a big however, the heroine is less bold than the usual JG heroine and hero less observant and the relationship doesn’t happen for a hot bit. The hero was in-fucking-furiating at the beginning bc he was soooo absorbed keeping his promise to his father.
While this isn’t what I’d call a great relationship from the beginning, it does grow and become something really sweet and beautiful. This is chock full of action and scandal. Garwood made a very unconventional match that was NOT going well at all into something that put a stupid smile on my face again.
If you decide to read this (pls do), remember to laugh at the stupid stubbornness of the hero bc why are men so stupid??

Love this book

I liked this one about as much as the bride, which is to say not much. I didn't like the hero and it was a but boring. I did like the epilogue and wish more of her books had one.

Connor is a Broody hero full of vengeance out to slay his father's killers. Brenna is a sweet, but somewhat scatterbrained heroine who ends up in the crossfire between Connor and his enemy. It doesn't take long for Connor to fall under Brenna's spell after first meeting her.

This had the fun banter this author is known for between the main characters. I loved their very first meeting they had when Brenna was so young. The first book was a bit more fun but I think that's because there were more separate scenes in this book.

I loved the hint to a possible book with Brenna's sister but since it has been years since this book was published, it doesn't seem like that's going to happen. It's too bad since Quinlin and Faith's meeting was so intriguing.
