It was a beautifully crafted piece of literary work. There are times I don't quite know what emotion I'm suppose to feel so I feel all of the. Deeply raw and honest it is a must read of triumph and survial, about coming into your full self, whole and healed.

This is a phenomenally raw and honest memoir. I knew I loved Viola as an actress in the shows/films I’ve seen her in before but never knew much below the surface. Reading this showed me the deep levels of the drive and passion she’s had throughout her life to get to where she is.
Her telling of the trauma she experienced in her childhood and the highs that she then achieved later in her life was written with such raw emotion and the audiobook was very moving to hear her speaking of the events with her own voice. An incredible book about an incredible woman.

Getting to know Viola's story was wonderful and she's incredibly strong, especially with her upbringing. The lack of structure to the story made it difficult to follow cohesively at times. The story is 4⭐ but the execution/readability is 2.5⭐ for me.

What a life Davis has lived! I appreciated her vulnerability and honesty—her life has not been easy, and it takes a lot of courage to put down on paper a lot of the things she experienced. She’s such an incredible actor and I loved hearing throughout the book about the passion and commitment she has for the art.
