It was a cute little read, despite the plot generally seeming more cliche than the first in this trilogy, i actually liked it more!

-Witches
-Missing magic
-Mild enemies to lovers
-Open door

This was another cute read! It’s set right after The Ex Hex, this time focusing on Gwyn (Vivi’s cousin) and Wells (Rhys’s brother). Gwyn and Wells are both a little broody and sarcastic, and I loved their chemistry! We also see Rhys and Vivi still, which was nice. And 3 younger witches that Gwyn is sort of mentoring, who I really enjoyed reading about.

Wells returns to Graves Glen to help re-establish the presence of their family there, where he meets Gwyn. Some mysterious things start happening, a suspicious character shows up, magic goes missing, and they have to figure out who’s causing it.

The conflict and resolution at the end was super fast and I do wish it had been drawn out a little more, but overall this was still a very fun, cute, spicy read! 😊 and I loved Shannon McManus as the narrator this time!

TW: strong language, explicit sexual scenes

As much as I liked The Ex Hex, I loved The Kiss Curse that much more! Gwyn is such a character lol, she’s fun and relatable and I loved her POV. The competition between her and Wells created some great tension and really drove home the enemies to lovers vibe (which I am absolutely a fan of aahahaha). A huge thanks to Sir Purrcival (however you spell that because I audio’d this haha) for all the laughs! I also really liked the baby witches with all their mishaps!

Absolutely pick this book up if you’re looking for
-a spooky season, witchy read that is still light hearted
-all the fall vibes
-cute funny banter
-some fire chemistry with some Enemies to Lovers

Content warnings: there is kidnapping/attempted murder (not graphic but alluded to), blood, fire/fire injury, sexual content

A little disappointed Gwyn ended up with a man, but at least Wells is sweet, if dumb lol. Loved the Baby Witches!! It almost feels like Simon is TOO evil, and how did Wells miss that entirely???
SpoilerPlus, at the end, when Bowen is like "I'll deal with our father" and the other two just go "yeah okay"? No offers of help, just my story is over so good luck???? Okayyyyyy. I know it's setting up for Bowen's book but like...wut. idk. Also Gwyn just regaining her powers due to our will lol. Anything works within this world's very undefined limits of magic!!!
I'm curious enough about Bowen to read his when it comes out (but there are no more Jones witches to pair him with!!! Elaine?? Lmaoooo) but I don't expect it to be dramatically different from the first two.

Started and finished date - 07.06.25 to 10.06.25.
My rating - Four Stars.
I really enjoyed is book and I think people who like the very secret society of irregular witches by Sangu Mandanna or under loch and key by Lana Ferguson may like is book. This book had very cozy Halloween vibe and this book remind me a lot of Halloween town. The writing was okay and the writing was easy to follow also the ending of was fine. The magic system was okay and the atmosphere was fine. The paced of plot was well structured and steady paced. I like the characters but I would them to be flash out bit more.
