low 4 stars, maybe even 3.75 // I didn’t realize this was going to be a Penhallow brothers series. Based off of the first book I expected Gwyn’s story to be sapphic, especially since her “past” with Wells is never mentioned – not even in passing. I’ve also heard some people say that it’s just a repeat of “The Ex Hex” and I kind of get that. Although there were some new and interesting elements (e.g. the “love spell”, which I would’ve loved to see more of/see executed differently). The ending was a solid set up for the third book, which I’m guessing is about Baron.

This was cute but I was kind of bored the whole way through. Not really much to say about it to be honest. I didn’t hate it and there was nothing really wrong with it, it just didn’t grab me at all. I’ll continue with the next one but overall this was a flat 3 ⭐️.
