I liked this less than The Ex Hex but it was still a fun, fall romance book!

Way better than the first book! I liked the couple a lot more, their chemistry worked a lot better for me, and their banter was fantastic. The plot was more interesting, and obviously the talking cat was a huge selling point

I want to start by saying that the beginning was very slow and the main plot didn’t come in until about half way through but that last half was packed full of twists, suspense and surprise though somewhat predictable in parts.

I felt like compared with the Ex Hex this one fell flat because the first half seemed irrelevant, the foreshadowing about their relationship never really came to fruition in the way I expected and the last half seemed rushed. I’d have preferred less build up and more action for sure. Most of the characters were established in the first book so rehashing that seemed pointless to me. While the story follows different characters the two are connected so I wouldn’t recommend reading this without the other first.

Such a great book! Don't get me wrong... this was almost a 5 star read!

The plot line was intriguing an had me hooked since the edible body glitter incident (wink wink). The characters were enjoyable and had growth that was understandable and didn't loose their dimension once romance fully sparked. It was just a perfect page turner.

Why did I knock off a star? For the representation of wiccans/witches. Basically the book makes it out to seem that wiccans/witches aren't that intelligent, (as magical witches are the only true witches, and it's by birth so everyone else is just a "tourist/young witch", and most of them are portrayed as dumb and willingly mistreat tools of communication and fortune telling such as tarot cards) and I'm truly hoping the author wasn't intending that portrayal and that's just how I read it. But some of the discussions truly felt like they were belittling wiccans/witches.

P.s. I haven't read book 1 yet, as I wasn't aware until over 1/2 way through that it was a sequel.

This one is more like a 3.5/4 but definitely enjoyable. A perfect witchy read for this time of year.
