My 2 star review is based on the dreadful narration of this book. The book itself was fun--snappy, clever dialogue much like the first in the series. I wish I'd read the ebook, because the narrator's poor choices and poorer performance made it difficult to focus on this story. This book is set in Georgia, yet all of women have that affected, slightly nasal, lazy S lisp that made them sound insipid and straight out of a 'reality' show about LA teenagers. And then there's problem with the male characters from Wales. Obviously, the narrator has never heard someone from Wales speak, and didn't bother to research what a Welsh accent might sound like. Thus, the accent she attempted for these gents was so wrong that it became embarrassing. I like this author, but I will make it my business to avoid this narrator's work from here on out.

Soooooo slow! I slogged through it wanting to know what happens because I liked the first book, but I just couldn’t get into it, despite the talking cat

Much better than the first book’s ending. I liked this romance better as well. I will admit, I had a hard time liking Gwyn. I think we’re supposed to find Wells stuffy & cold, but I like a guy with a big vocabulary. The book had some issues with the magick plot, but I felt that was secondary to the romance. It was very entertaining. 4.5⭐️’s.

This was fine, Llewellyn is a solid MMC but Gwen doesn't do it for me. I just don't find a character who's conventionally attractive, hot, and confident and she knows it and everybody else knows it AND ALSO she's a ball buster AND ALSO she's a powerful witch AND ALSO she's a successful small business woman AND ALSO she's super nice but oh no she kind of but not really has commitment issues but not really bc it was just bc she hasn't met MMC to be an interesting character. This book is just her journey to admitting she finds MMC hot, being laughably duped by a mean girl college alumna, and then they win in the end. Mid.
