3,5⭐ rounded to 4.
I liked the vibe and banter, totally can imagine it being a tv series (would love to watch!). Cozy and a bit dreamy even.

Maybe too instalove for me and as in the first book the main conflict solution was out of nowhere, that's why my rate isn't higher.

Still would recommend reading!

Gwynnevere "Gwyn" Jones is my favorite character from the first book, The Ex-Hex because of her hilarious one liner and larger than life attitude so I looking forward to read her story in the second book of Graves Glen series, The Kiss Curse. While book 1 have "the one that got away" trope, this book tend more to "grumpy x sunshine" with Gwyn's significant other is the first son of Penhallow family, Llewellyn aka Wells who always grumpy all the time while Gwyn is the firecracker ones.

The 'grumpy x sunshine' trope should have work but it's difficult to me to connect to both Gwyn and Wells. I just don't get their connection at first and what supposed to be "enemies/rivals to lover" because of what happen in book 1 with Jones coven take over Graves Glen magic from the Penhallow family. Took me time to finally enjoy their interactions. For me the highlight of their romantic relationship is when Wells finally declare his love for Gwyn by rantings and fumbling magnificently mixed with his apologies for what happen to Gwyn. I found it very cute. But, that is. I'm disappointed to know that
when Wells said that he like Gwyn's pink hair because once in his time at Penhaven College he stumble upon a purple-haired girl and smitten by her. That girl of course was Gwyn! But there's no explanation of what happen after Wells's confession and Gwyn also didn't tell Wells that the purple-haired girl was her. If that happen, its will make it more romantic, imho
.

The problems were pretty much light with Gwyn suddenly lost her magic ability and there's new coven come to town with sinister intentions. I admit that the half book is pretty much slow with the story become interesting when the mystery surrounding the new coven get revealed and why Gwyn lost her magic at the first place. The three young witches dubbed Baby Witches was okay. I miss Gwyn and Vivi's banter to be honest. Overall a light and witchy paranormal romance but didn't hold same candle with the previous book. Curious about the next book about the middle Penhallow, Bowen, since he is so eccentric and consider that the Penhallow problem with the family patriarch still don't resolved yet, I wish the conflict and stake will higher and provide satisfying finale.
