This scratched an itch for something like Ender's Game but in fantasy form and the addition of romance. The underestimated heroine is thrust into a messy world of intrigue and challenge, and comes out knowing more about herself and the world. Standard stuff with very few genuine surprises, but very well done and I didn't want to stop reading. A luxurious and distracting romp.

Man if this book isn’t a roller coaster of emotions. Liam’s scene always makes me cry, even though I thought I wouldn’t this time. Foolish me. What can I say, Fourth Wing is one of my fave books.
(Really wanted to finish the reread of FW and IF before OS even came out, but here we are 3 months later)
