im very late to reading this book but im finally here and i must say its worth the hype.

is fourth wing the most unique fantasy ive ever come across? no, in fact it reminded me of red queen in a lot of ways. does this mean it wasn’t enjoyable? no! i think it was well written, the plot was well-paced, the cliffhanger ending made me really happy im reading this once the next part is already out haha.
violet and xaden’s romance is also great. the sex scenes are well written and prioritise female pleasure (score!). i do wish some of the characters were fleshed out more but there’s still time for that over the series.
i also listened to the dramatised audiobook for some chapters and i must say the spicy scenes were kinda crazy to listen to - would definitely recommend however as it was so well produced.

in general i was positively surprised bc i heard a lot of people say it’s majorly overhyped and while it wasn’t the best thing ive ever read it was definitely very good!! i haven’t finished a book in quite a few months but fourth wing was the one that got me there!

Trop de scènes de sexe qui ne servent pas l'intrigue, un peu agaçant à lire pour certaines scènes romantiques

I really enjoyed this book for what it was, the world building was good. I appreciated that they gave character to the dragons by allowing them to speak. I really liked the magic/power system, although it did feel a little underwhelming in terms of creativity for what the characters could do. I would’ve really appreciated there being secondary characteristics attached to the awakening of powers. Like this is the characters base power structure but there’s fluctuation in how they can develop their powers or utilize them based of their own creativity. It is still the first book so it’s possible that’ll be addressed later on. I did like the build up of tension between the characters in the beginning but once violet and Xaden finally got together the book felt like it became focused on when they could have sex the next time compared to the politics in the world building and development of the story. I will say author brought it back in the last few chapters with the confrontation with what was being hidden from the students in the riders quadrant. I’m looking forward to seeing how this story develops in the second book. Also really appreciated the pacing, if I took more time to sit down and read consistently I would’ve finished a lot faster.
