Unfortunately, this book never really grabbed my interest or made any sense to me. Although I will admit the writing style is easy to read so I sped through most of it.

I honestly don't think I've ever read a book that is as weird as this one. I'm usually totally here for a good murder mystery that leads you along as you solve the puzzle, but this one was just lead me down a path that kept getting more and more disturbing and made less and less sense. It felt like my brain was in overdrive trying to put together the pieces whilst also reading really creepy stuff.

Bottom line is, I don't like books that make me feel like I'm working overtime to understand whatever is going on, so 2 stars it is.

Very weird and creepy! I don’t think I’ll look at corn or apricots the same way ever again.

I really liked Margot and thought that she was a very dynamic character. Her mother and grandmother both were written very well. It all felt authentic, even though Margot’s mother was toxic and emotionally abusive, i personally could still feel sympathy for her. Gram was definitely very interesting. (She reminded me of someone in my family

The beginning of this book and the end of this book are completely disjointed. Never would have expected the end to be what it was while I was slightly bored and annoyed with the main character throughout the majority of the beginning and middle. It felt like a contemporary mystery at first but then is a bit horrorish by the end without any real scare factor. I was not enjoying it but I would say that I liked it in the end. It does a great job of bringing up the experiences of generational trauma and I like how the characters actually had a moment to talk about it. Apparently Powers has another book that was more popular and has a similar horror/thriller/mystery vibe that I might check out. I might of liked this even more if I knew what I was getting into.

Well this was the first book I ever finished sooooo fast, it was such a page turner. Although I do understand much of the main characters reasoning for how she acted, I also found it irritating at times. But also *SPOILER ALERT*
I DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHY ,AFTER SHE SAW HER FRIEND AND HER FAMILY MURDERED BY HER GRANDMOTHER, SHE WOULD EVEN GO BACK TO SEE HERRR! I’m sorry but if I would’ve experienced that my butt would’ve been at the police station. And all those bodies left ?? Omggg. This book was a huge shocker as each page went by. Well done Rory!! Such an amazing book, I’m definitely going to pick up Wilder Girls now!
