This book was a miss for me. I could not find it in myself to be invested in the Assassin Game plot. It seemed so trivial compared to the plot surrounding Meredith’s grief. Yet, it seemed to get more attention than the rest of the story. I found the emotional notes to be somewhat two-dimensional, and the same points were repeated over and over again. The romance was cute but shallow. Ultimately, there was very little that was compelling about this book. I almost DNF’ed it, if I’m being honest. The ending was sweet, I’ll give it that. Overall, I would not recommend this one.
