This book was adorable. I was hesitant because the first book in this series was pretty average, but Archer knocked it out of the park with this one. The characters and extremely lovable and it’s impossible not to fall in love with Rory Miller. The open communication between characters was refreshing and Archer is a master at writing what it feels like to fall in love. The spice in this book is exceptional and builds with the relationship. I do wish we saw a greater conflict in the third act rather than something that was resolved within a page. Overall, this was fantastic and I look forward to the rest of the books to come

i loved the set up and the tension and their banter! but was def too long for my taste and honestly just TMI at some points (esp. the spicy scenes lol but that’s just me) and i LOVED seeing the set up for the next book in the series and getting to read about pippa and jamie again

This is the second book in the Vancouver Storm series and it follows Hazel and Rory. This book had great tropes: enemies to lovers, fake dating, he falls first and hard! Plus we see Jamie and Pippa from the first book. This is a great series with interesting characters. Highly recommend.

Stephanie Archer is an auto-buy author for me and The Fake Out is another in a long line of knockouts from her! The Fake Out is an opposites attract, grumpy/sunshine, fake dating story, all of which are my favorite tropes. Rory is the epitome of golden retriever boyfriends and I loved how much Hazel had to try to stifle her laughter around him. I need my own Rory! He was so sweet and all in to help Hazel get on her ex's nerves. I loved that Hazel is a total badass and Rory knows it and loves it about her. The way the two of them protected each other was really great.
The best part is
no third act break up!!
. That's really what made it 5 stars for me.
