emotional rollercoaster delixe but easily one of my favourite books!!
I fully anticipated the plot twist
in the last couple pages with BJ and Paili, when he first talked about the cheating and it not being Taura Saxe

It’s funny, quick, and made me sob! The overt mention of clothing brands is a bit annoying but you can move past it and find a story reminiscent of early 2010’s TV shows in the best way.

Read this if you want relationship drama mixed with a bit of mystery and then some kinda random poetical things about love. I love romance so the fact that this was mostly about a relationship I found it super fast paced. Not much plot and more about their character and how they navigate their lives. I also liked reading about the side characters and everyone is really rich which makes it even more entertaining. I also liked the friendship dynamics and it's dual POV in first person.

oh my god this book is a trip. I HATEDD this book while reading it up until the plot twist. It very much normalizes toxic relationships, toxic fighting, every toxic behavior, and even kinda altercations, that being said !!!!! do not romanticize any of it !!!!!!! this book reminds me so so so much of my toxic relationship so it was kind of hard to read at times. i love magnolia so so much and i hate bj so so so much and i hate things that he does to magnolia and i hate that it’s somehow normalized in this universe. I was so rooting for magnolia to choose tom :( the plot twist actually made me sick to my stomach. my literal stomach started churning palms started sweating and heart started racing. had to actually stop reading and look around me multiple times while reading the end to remind myself that I’m not in a similar situation Magnolia is in in the book anymore. ALL THAT BEING SAID, I’m def reading the next ones. and praying everyday that magnolia is done with bj for GOOD.

I instantly fell in love with the friend group and the vibes (love the found family trope), very gossip girl vibes as everyone says. But was not a big fan at all of the writing style - 1-3 similies and metaphors per page is a bit overkill (read page 306 if you want a prime example). The characters and relationships are SO toxic it's ridiculous.

HOWEVER, I couldn't put it down, I kept thinking about it when I wasn't reading, I was obsessed. I have not read a book this long in such a short amount of time. I devoured it.

I have such mixed emotions - I can’t tell if I loved it or hated it or probably both. It is very made in chelsea and there’s a lot of drama but not much really happens and by the end it’s kind of repetitive. Occasionally something outside the main will-they-won’t-they happens but then that plot point just fades away. It is kinda 2010s fanfic in the way stuff is described, but the most jarring thing is the odd description or word that doesn’t fit the London/UK setting: ie referring to school years as grades etc. I saw the ending coming
because the way it was a secret meant it could only be her sister or best friend
and it was a bit unsatisfying but overall I read it on holiday in a swimming pool so it definitely did what it needed to

It’s super toxic so if you don’t romanticize it and understand that this is not what a real life relationship should look like, it’s a good angsty/pining read!

But also, justice for Tom, man 🥲
