dark tense medium-paced

Found the pace of the first half not very engaging, and even the action that did happen seemed horrific but also quite detached. At this point everyone might as well end up dead.

It was a great ending to a great series. It showed war with its brutality and how revenge was not the solution. Overall I really liked it however my favorite character dies in this one
Finnick
so I'm not gonna give it a higher rating.

I honestly forgot how much I love these books. This one makes me so sad but also almost satisfied by the ending.

Spoiler My only problem was that I feel like we don't really get to see Peeta turn back to his old self after the Capitol hijacked him? Also I'm just a little salty that we don't get to know their kids' names

The book is far better than the movie, you can really see how Katniss is feeling, how hard it has been for her and the struggle she is fighting within herself. It's just a emotionally powerful book.

This was one of the best final books of a series I have ever read, hands down, it's one of the few that make it clear that this story that the trilogy covered has reached it's ending and there's no more to write or read. I could barely put this book down and reading about the people died and how they died made me cry and grieve with katniss, I do feel like this book series gets too much flack from people who haven't taken the time to read it bc it has some raw moments that are quite tough to read, I'll definitely be purchasing each of the three books to keep on my shelf as I had read each of the books from the library and try to only have physical copies of books I know I'll re-read more than once as I think having books I won't read to be wasteful in terms of space and the book's potential to make another reader happy in a sense, but this series has made a lasting impression on me and I now understand why the hunger games took the world by storm. Suzanne Collins went Off writing this series and doesn't shy away from the fact that Katniss is still a child during the actual action, I have read all three books in less than a week and was really impressed with how well the words came through in my mental voice, especially during some Katniss' panic attacks, the way the words would flood my mind going faster and faster until it got to a tipping point where it'll all stop, but you could feel her pain and grief so strongly, it was like hearing it second hand from your friend who has seen some shit. Reading this series with fresh eyes was absolutely an amazing experience and I'm almost sad that I'm not going to get that again unless I go a few years without thinking about it, which I'm most likely not going to let happen.
