"'I felt loved, but at the same time, I didn't care if I was loved.'" 

You'd be Home Now by Kathleen Glasgow was a beautiful portrayal of the struggles of young adults today. Drug addiction, slut shaming, feeling unseen and unheard...Glasgow made the reader painfully aware of the fact that this is what teenagers struggle with today. This novel will hit you like a semi, but it's worth it.

wth. I have NEVER read the author’s note or acknowledgements for a book, but I did for this one. This was so utterly heartbreaking and inspiring all at once, and tears were def present lol. I need to go recover now. This is such a deep and REAL story of addiction, heartache, and the lows of life. It’s not going to be fun or lighthearted, but it’s the cold hard truth to so many people’s lives and is SO eye opening. I’m shook 100/10 recommend

Literally one of my favourite books of all time now. What have I just read. That was an absolute soul crushing masterpiece.

Ok it’s now over two months since I’ve finished this book and it’s yet to leave my head. I haven’t stopped thinking or loving this book since I picked it up. I feel so much love and care for these characters and just want to cherish them. It was so raw and emotional and there is one scene towards the end of the book that I cannot stop thinking about . It was incredible. My favourite book of all time. It is indescribable how much I love this book. Read it right now!!!

Another update from a year and a month later - shocker, I still think about this book ALL THE TIME genuinely the most special and my fav of all time 💕

i just love anything that kathleen glasgow writes she gives such a detailed, realistic description of important issues, in this case drug addiction. it was difficult for me to get through at first because it reminded me so much of my own life but once i managed it its such a beautiful book that details the things you dont see from other people. it made me cry several times and is definitely in my top 3 books

towards the end when max calls emory and they find joey is such a beautiful scene. the way that joey was relieved to see max to know he would call her felt so good after all the horrible shit he probably experienced during the 45 days he was missing. i was just so happy that after all that time he was able to not just get help and accept it as well. such a good ending to Joey’s story. Their father also kind of appearing after essentially not being there for the majority of the book was satisfying as well and the way he opened up their hearts to the people struggling and used their money for something good to help people like Joey, such amazing character development i loved this book so much
