I wasn’t sure about this one, and usually I am hooked right from the get go. This one was a slow burn and that’s mainly because I found it harder to connect with Melanie, she’s quite a tough nut to crack and at times acted like a selfish, spoilt and high maintenance brat….. but then you get through all of that and see how vulnerable, scared and scarred she is from her own life and also the men she’s dated and her own family. The ending of this book and yes oh god the series is exceptional. I am going to miss these characters but I always know I can meet them again… plus I am so excited to see what Amy comes up with next.

- Grumpy Sunshine
- Fake Dating/Fake Engagement
- Forced Proximity
- Small-Town Romance

Melanie, a grounded influencer in need of a social media refresh, and Evan, the grumpy owner of a small-town inn. When a sponsorship deal falls through, Melanie finds herself stranded and ends up at Evan’s hotel, the only place with availability. A twist of fate (and a little bit of miscommunication) leads Melanie to pose as Evan's fiancée to gain access to his hospital room after an injury, setting the stage for a charming fake dating scenario.

As Melanie and Evan navigate their faux relationship to appease his family and smooth over an old family feud, their initial irritation with each other slowly turns into something real. Evan’s grumpy exterior hides a softer side that Melanie can’t help but be drawn to, and their chemistry is palpable as they fall into an easy rhythm of partnership—both in life and in running the inn together
