Ok but like why was this so good?
Of course I inevitably procrastinated my summer reading to the weekend before it was due but I finished it so that’s all that matters.
And this play was sooo good?!? I don’t really understand why I liked it so much but it was extremely entertaining and very interesting. This was basically a better King Lear. Shakespeare took the idea of Oedipus Rex and made it worse by writing King Lear and that sucks because this play was bomb.com.
So the plot is pretty simple and the whole play only takes place over the course of a couple hours but the twists and turns were so much fun to read about. I found a lot of enjoyment by annotating this one because I got to completely trash on the characters in the margins which was VERY ENTERTAINING.
I don’t know what else to say about this book except that my boy Will wrote fanfiction and overcomplicated it for no reason at all. Also the ending of this was a jaw drop moment because I had never heard the myth before so I didn’t know like the ENDING ending with the mutilation. Which was baller might I add.
I’m actually super excited to write an essay on this whoop whoop let’s hope the rest of my English course is this good.
