“Then learn that mortal man must always look to his ending, and none can be called happy until they say when he carries his happiness down to the grave in peace.”
I forgot how much I love this play. I’m excited to teach it!

I love Oedipus the King and a agree with Aristotle in that it's one of the best tragedies ever. Ironic and tragic, it re-tells the ancient myth of Oedipus, fated to marry his mother and kills his father, it leaves the audience with a sense of Catharsis - that by reading (or seeing) the play, we have somehow lived a whole new experience.

My favorite Greek tragedy. Oedipus is the quintessential tragic hero who I cannot help but feel bad for and he is the only one that I can confidently say did nothing wrong (except for maybe engaging in some road rage and accidentally killing his biological father)
