Just okay. Was anticipating something transcendent, and while I think the sequels could achieve it, this one feels like set up for another story. The prose and dialogue are mechanical, though I attribute this to reading it in a different language.
I'll read The Dark Forest and then return to this rating.

audiobooked half of this on a road trip through europe. give me more ye wenjie. she was awesome didn’t see that one coming. certified baddie. would i have booped the button? probably lol. da shi is the best. i liked that this one had more of a sense of mystery. also i love how it’s got all the backdrop of the cultural revolution and how that plays into her decisions. this book can get kinda dense with the physics
