Quite boring. It tries to build up some tension but at some point, the pace is so lacking I stopped caring anymore. Also, the parts where there are some covered criticisms of the revolution are a bit one-sided. Of course, west media loves it since it's a free swing to the communist ideology.

I like the commissaire character but the others are just meh.

It has the necessary ingredients but I don't feel it makes a good meal in the end. It didn't leave me with the feeling that "I want more of this stuff."

This was slower than I’d like but the whole book was working up to the ending and setting up the series. It was really interesting and I’m sure induced many existential crises in people. If I were a hardcore sci-fi reader I would’ve rated it higher.
