‘Things We Never Got Over’ was okay at best, okay? I’m sorry but it wasn’t out of this world great or anything.
‘Things We Hide From The Light’ bumped up the rating for the trilogy a smidge and THAT is because Lina is a whole ass queen. I love her so much, out of everyone in this series EXCEPT for maybe Sloane.
AND THIS? THIS, LUCY? THANK YOU. Thank YOU for giving the people what we craved so desperately and that is Sloane and Lucian.
Childhood friends-to-enemies-to lovers? The banter? UNTIL THE VERY LAST PAGE, dude. The tension? They wanted EACH OTHER SO BAD. The pining? The want? The drama? THE HEARTBREAK? THE SPICE? MY GOODDDD. Lucian’s mouth had me WEAK. ACTUALLY WEAK. I’m still geeking. I’m still processing.
Lucian is one of the best grumpy MMC’s every written. Seriously — ever written. I was GIGGGLING at his inner monologue, even if he was trying to be mean. He wasn’t stupid-immature or annoying and that’s saying a lot from this series. He was just a sad man who wanted everything and didn’t think he deserved it. Sloane was so freaking funny, dude. I adored the way she held herself, even when she cried. She’s strong and fun and knows what she wants. I adore hard-headed FMC’s.
All in all, I’m so happy and it’s easily my favorite of the 3. I decided that when I was 16% into it. Who am I kidding? I knew it would be my favorite since I first read TWNGO and we were introduced to these hilarious and sexy characters. I’m sad to see it go but I’m happy with the ending!
