5 ⭐️ // Lucian and Sloane are my favorite!
Something happened between Lucian and Sloane when they were in high school, and ever since they’ve never been able to be civil towards each other when in the same room. Since her parents love him like a son and she’s best friends with the wives of the men he considers his brothers, their petty feud is becoming increasingly inconvenient. As a grown woman with a successful career she loves, Sloane is getting tired of being in the defensive around Lucian. She’s also tired of being alone. But despite Lucian’s hostility towards her, he can’t seem to stop interfering in her life and in her search for a husband. He claims it’s because she can’t seem to make safe choices, but she can’t stop thinking about what things were like between them before that fateful night when everything changed. But even if he could forgive her, he’s clearly not, nor does he want to be, husband material. So why can’t she stop comparing every man she dates to him?
I give 5⭐️ to books I enjoyed so much, I won’t accept criticisms of the story even if there are some. And I literally can’t name a single thing wrong with this one.
It’s highly engaging. And while Sloane and Lucian’s feud as adults is definitely petty and immature, they don’t feel as over exaggerated as the other characters and their stories in this series did.
If you love when male love interests who care deep and hard even when they’re mad at the FMC, you’ll eat this up. If you like second chance romances, childhood sweethearts, and jealousy as tropes, you’ll love this.
All around, it’s just an amazingly entertaining ride.
