Book 3 was on brand with the winning formula of witty banter, crime solving heroics, and smut.

Wow this book gave me ALL of the friends to enemies to lover's goodness. I really enjoyed this series and getting to know all the characters and see their little found family grow. There were so many good themes in this book. Fighting for what's right, the complexities of family and found family, the power of second chances and forgiveness, grieving a loved one, and overcoming the past to embrace the future. and OH EM GEE there were so many good quotes that had me smiling, kicking my feet, laughing and straight up crying. I'm really going to miss these characters.

When the dad's last text to Lucian was "If I could have chosen a son in this lifetime, it would have been you. Take care of my girls." SOBBING
"If I got married and had kids, how would I ever share with them what he meant to me?"
"Well, what do you want to be?" "Rich." Same
"Gotta side with the testosterone twins." the commentary in this book was just so good
"You remembered," she said softly. "I remember every second of us." MY HEART
"Does he know he's cooked?" literally laughed out loud
"I see more of my father than yours in you." SOBBING AGAIN

Lets not forget that Lucian Freaking Rollins paid part of Sloanes dads cancer treatments without telling her, also giving money to the library WITHOUT telling her. AND HE READ HER BOOK CLUB PICKS!!!! that's a man
