Book 26 of 2025 is Things We Left Behind by Lucy Score. I was starting to get into an audiobook funk when I remembered that I needed to finish this series and I am so glad I did. This follows the enemies to lovers, Sloan and Lucien who have lived next door to each other since they were children but something happens and they fall out of friendship and become “enemies.” This was by far my favorite of the series. Give me a story about growing up next to someone your whole life and then falling in love later on in life and I am down. I loved these characters and even though they fought back and forth constantly through most of the book it was just so cute and enjoyable. Also, I love how the plot of the other stories get brought into theirs so it is all on going. Also, I really enjoyed that the author adds a second epilogue so we can see how their lives are years ahead. I gave this one ⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 stars.

Lucy Score just knows how to keep a series going! Hot, tension filled, backstory, and a series plot coming to an end.

Lucien Rollins knows better than to trust Sloane Walton. That doesn't mean he trusts anyone else to take care of her though, especially after her father dies. Lucien owes his life to the Waltons, and the man who became a surrogate father to him.

The death of Sloane's father puts things into perspective for her. Now she's not only spiraling grief, but also thinking about the things her father will never be there to experience. She'd always put her job first, but now there's no way to fill the ache when she thinks of her father never getting to see her married, or starting a family. Those were things she always meant to do, she always thought she had time. Now she's determined to stop putting them off.

With Anthony Hugo still out there, none of the Knockemout crew is safe. Not until they can put him away once and for all. But when Sloane stumbles onto a case that her father was pursuing, a woman who took the fall for her son and got a sentence that far exceeded the norm in her situation, Sloane is determined to make things right. Shockingly, Lucien offers assistance, if only to keep her out of trouble. But there's more to this woman's case than there appears to be, and soon Sloane is receiving threats.

With her in danger, the whole found Knockemout family rallies around her. I love these relationships, and the way they're bound to each other.

For fans of witty banter that will make you laugh out loud often, spicy romance with more than a splash of dirty talk, and unbreakable friendships, Lucy Score delivers yet again!
