My fav of the 3 knockemout books so far. The banter is funny and I enjoy the childhood friends to lovers trope. The MC is so protective and caring too which I loved. My only knock is why aren't these bad guys all locked up already?!

Now that I've read the entirety of the Knockemout series, I can confidently say it was just meh. The characters were lackluster, at times annoying, and left a lot to be desired. The stories themselves were fine, but they didn't necessarily stick out to me. I've read books that were a lot better and books that were a lot worse. Overall, they were all just fine to me.
Sloane and Lucian were by far my favorite of the 3. I found their chemistry the most exciting and their story the most enjoyable ... but even still, I wasn't wowed. Their story and the book itself was just fine. Nothing crazy.
Score's writing style and characters just might not be for me. Would not be opposed to reading more of her books in the future, but definitely wouldn't say I'm running to grab them off the shelves.

this was probably my least favorite book of this series by far. i couldn’t stand the rift between sloane and lucian. if they would have just COMMUNICATED it could’ve been resolved (or at least hashed out and put behind them) sooooooooooo much earlier than it was. i had to suffer through 500+ pages of them “hating” each other over a very stupid situation that happened 23 YEARS AGO. these people are ALMOST 40 and yet so unbearably immature. and then when they do finally get together they barely talk it out and just jump into being together??? as if lucian deserves her after how he’s treated her. the only thing i enjoyed was the side story of crime happening/solving going on. other than that, this book was not all that pleasant. the ending was cute, but at what cost? and so many reviews i read said that this was the best book in the series???? maybe that just gave me overly high expectations for this book. three stars might be a bit generous honestly……
The amount of times I wanted to hurl this book across my backyard because of Lucian being infuriatingly stubborn !!! Istg his case of denial was on a whole other level.
Anyways, moving past that
