Refreshing to read a book about time travel that isn’t about saving the world! I would tag this as sci-fi too even though it’s more so about finding who you are and what you’re meant to be in life. I got 13 Going on 30 vibes from this!

having recently lost my dad (within the past year) and him being on hospice…this brought all the feels. I’m not into the Sci-Fi stuff but if you’re like me and not you’d still enjoy this one. The back and forth of time travel was confusing at times but I was listening to this one so maybe would be clearer if reading. All in all, a really heartwarming story that reminded me a bit of Midnight Library in a reminder of being grateful for those moments you have.

This was exceptional. I've wanted to read this book for a while, I'm not even sure what attracted me to it but there's just something about the cover, the author, the blurb. It didn't disappoint. Alice is a middle aged time traveler with a middle aged time traveler dad, who's dying in her current present. And it was so cool. Alice is still stuck in her high school, without a husband or kids and she's always wondering what would be different if she did something differently in her past. What if she confessed to her crush and married him? And similar questions. And the answer is of course it wouldn't work out, because it's not her path. This is a similar message to The Midnight Library, which I also love. These books are right up my alley. This way of time travelling is really fun and revealing for the characters and sometimes I find myself wishing I could also travel back to my past. Not to change things but just see how it could have gone wrong. Anyway this book is really something and I really loved the story, the characters and the writing. The ending was sort of empty, like maybe I felt like she would have a bigger goodbye scene with her dad or that we'd find out she's getting closer to Kenji but honestly this one also works, leaves a bit more to the imagination.
