This is the best of the series. It has my favorite stories in it, like Lester the Pig who teaches table manners, and the powder for the “Thought You Saiders.” I like that in this one the parents tried the cure for a couple of the things before giving them to their children, so they knew how extreme the side effects were. I didn’t care for Mrs. Piggle Wiggle starving the entire neighborhood of children until they found her treasure, though. Almost no racist/fat phobic language so this one can stay on my daughter’s shelf.

I didn’t like the cures quite as much in this one (the magic seemed too easy), but the last chapter with the hunt for secret drawers of treasure - spectacular!

Charming. I remember LOVING this series in elementary school. A good read on a cold winter's day, but I probably won't be in a hurry to add the rest of the series to my reading list.

If you like the other Mrs. Piggle Wiggle books (like my daughter does) then you'll like this one because it's more of the same.
