this is clearly one of loretta chase's earlier books. Her style attempts to evoke austen and wilde and ends up all over the place. The voice was unclear. The heroine was dumb (even though her intelligence was remarked upon all the time) and the hero was obtuse. The only good parts were when the heroine and the 7-year-old ward were bonding and the hero was jealous. I love you Loretta Chase and I'm so glad you grew past this point.

Por el estilo de la narración y su fluidez, esta debe de ser una de las primeras novelas de la autora. Es una pena, porque los personajes podrían haber dado para mucho más, pero se quedan en una sucesión de clichés muy usados.

This wasn't bad. But it certainly wasn't great either. Everything felt rushed. The hero was annoyingly apathetic for half of the book and only showed an interest when it became clear his cousin wanted her too. His reluctance to step up to the plate led this reader to believe he didn't care for the heroine at all and only pursued her so his rival wouldn't get his toy. Book was way too short for any true feels to develop - the only semi angsty scene was over in a page.
