Angels’ Judgement is a very short short that tells the story of how Sara Haziz became the Guild Director, met her husband Deacon, the (soon to be ex.) hunter of hunters and they came to adopt a precious little hellhound they named Slayer. It’s a prequel to Angels’ Blood but should be read after in order to have an appreciation for the characters and the world. Raphael and what a badass he is, is mentioned as is how terrifying, inhuman and deadly the archangels are.

Simon the current American Guild Director is called before the Cadre to discuss his stepping down and the appointing of a successor. He’s worried that some of the Archangels will try to “test” Sara as they did him when he ascended to the position – and apparently “testing” involves very unfair odds and potential death – so he arranges to have Deacon aka “The Slayer” “run into” Sara on a hunt. He knows She would never accept a bodyguard, but if he just happens to be there – then he can help keep her safe. Deacon is a bit of a loner, which is a pre-requisite for his position as it wouldn’t do for him to get friendly with the same people he may one day have to kill. Deacon hunts the hunters who lose their marbles and decide they want to kill vampires instead of treating them like any other innocent person who just needs to get bagged and tagged for welshing on a contract.

Deacon and Sara have insta-lust/love and an immediate connection and their “romance” and sexcapades was underwhelming. The mystery of the "hunter" gone bonkers/turned vampire serial killer was interesting but not terribly enthralling. If you don’t have OCD or a serious obsession with Sara – you could probably skip this one.

I adore this origin story behind my two favorite humans in this whole series. This really made me want to go back and read the series from the beginning to see if I end up liking it any better now that it's gotten so good.

This is how Sara and Deacon come together. I think the only thing that made me give it 4.5 stars instead of 5 is because it felt a little bit of insta-love. Despite that small factor, I really enjoyed this story. This is set right before Sara becomes the Guild Director. She's given the task of hunting down another hunter who is killing vampires. She is getting help from the Slayer, a hunter of the hunter. It's a lonely job and he doesn't have to do it often so he is also a weapon maker. Let me tell you, when I first read about Deacon I could not picture him as the bad ass that he is portrayed in this story.

We got to see some of Elena and we got to see more of Sara and Deacon's personality. We also figured out where they got their dog Slayer from. I think this little novella was great in it's investigative aspect but it's also great to get some more detail on Sara.

Angels' Judgment is currently only available in Angels' Flight. Not published as a single title yet.

This one we get Sara Haziz story. She is a human-born Guild Hunter who later becomes the Guild Director for America. Before she becomes the Director she is sent on a mission and tested by the Archangel’s - The Cadre. But, she’s not alone. Yummy, Deacon is at her side. He’s their to offer protection and to help Sarah on her mission.

It's action-packed and gritty. I loved every moment of it. They are hunting one of their own, a Guild Hunter who may or may not have gone off the deep end. Sarah uses her mind along with her crossbow to her advantage. Deacon was a amazing. He does his job well, but he can also be light and funny. The chemistry was off the charts with these two and those love scenes, steamy.

Angels’ Judgement was a treat. It was wonderful to see Sarah and Deacon become lovers. This novella was perfect. Their is action, danger, blood, and romance.

Gosh, did I love this one!

Where Angel's Dance was more of an emotional, poetically beautiful novella, this one is just pure fun and hilarity mixed with horniness and sexual tension. I got a lot of Night Huntress by Jeaniene Frost vibes, so if you liked that series, you'll probably love this novella as well!

What I also loved, is that Sara is a POC FMC, a total badass, in the running for a leading position in the Guild, basically being the CEO of an important division. My feminist part just loves seeing women at the top!

Also, the friendship between Sara and Ellie (Elena) is to die for. These women have each other's backs. I can't remember, but I hope we'll get to see more of Sara and Deacon in the future books!

That last chapter brought such a big smile to my face because all of a sudden, the last chapter made more sense and it filled my heart with love.

Haters will say that this is instalove and I will say maybe but when it's written well, that doesn't matter.

This one was amazing. Sara's strength of character and her abilities as a hunter have never been in question in any of the books but seeing that woman, with a steel backbone, in action was a treat in itself.

I love reading about strong women who can hold their own. Women (fictitous and real) who make others think about how they are being dependent on others for no reason at all.

As for Deacon, the way he is described, I'd like to be mine but the man has already made his choice.

Love at first sight done right in this one.

This short story tells us about Sara and Deacon's first meeting, how their dog was named, and Sara's journey to become Guild Director. It really is a mini instalment of a Guild Hunter book, filled with the same mystery and adrenaline rush.

For such a short novella, this was amazing. I don’t usually expect to connect with any characters or get much of a story, but this did and it was all great! I’ve been putting this series off like I usually do when I love an authors series and it’s all I’ve read because I’m too scared the rest won’t live up to my expectations but I think I’m going to love this one too!

Very rushed novella and a little confusing, but I enjoyed Sara and Deacon and their puppy.
