An Anthology stories, as well as a return to form for the series. Dating back to the original run by Rene Goscinny, the short but entertaining stories add a much needed spice to the collection.
It boasts a variety of tales, from when our main cast were kids, from when our Dynamic duo were born, to when the animals of the world take on the allegorical mantle of the factions. This and much more, meta jokes, satire, puns, all in full glory.
Something which would've been better suited as a newspaper/ comic strip, but is nonetheless worth the read.

Full disclosure, I grew up on this series so my opinion is necessarily biased.
I'm of the view that there is no such thing as a bad Asterix book ... but some volumes, like this one, is pretty good ... but squarely aimed at fans. This is an eclectic collection of short pieces that the authors had created over the years.
As a child I was fortunate enough to read through a teacher's copy of the 1993 edition of Astérix et la Réntrée gauloise. I only read it once and I was quite young but I specifically remembered the story about Spring and the story about Obelix's descendants. I then spent the rest of my childhood assuming I had imagined the whole thing. I can't tell you how delighted I was when a new edition of this collection was reissued in 2003 and I was able to own a copy for myself.

A 'new' Asterix book but one written by the original creators. A bunch of 2-3 page short stories that were done as promotional material or for magazines or other side projects, these were a delight the whole way through.

Unlike the other Asterix books, this is a compilation of short stories, rather than one long story. Each story has an introductory page giving some of its original history.

A fun look at older comics that came out and the cult surrounding the Asterix comics in general.

Schreiber (fertig)
Fazit? Recht gutes Comic. Bitte mehr davon!

A mixed bag, but some of these are lovely, and they're all fun.
