DID NOT FINISH: 76%

To everyone who said this was the most unhinged smut book they've ever read, I only have one thing to say: the smut was distinctly, undoubtedly, and painfully, hinged.

I was ready to DNF it at 30% but I volunteered as tribute so I could leave an honest review. I made it to 76% before I couldn't stand it anymore. It was like someone brought the plot idea to this author and said, "Just the facts, ma'am." Literally, no vibes. The world and the characters are all slapped together like a birthday cake made by a 5-year-old. There's this idiotic love triangle situation and through the whole thing, the FMC was basically a teenage drama queen with a daisy, pulling petals like, "He loves me! He loves me not. He LOVES me! He loves me not." And the longer the book went on, the worse it got. Exhausting. Every person promoting this book must be getting paid to do so. I cannot fathom ANY avid reader actually enjoying this nonsense.

For how "unhinged" this is supposed to be, the sex was just a little above average. Snakes have hemipenises, and I think a huge opportunity was missed. Also, why are they hot? Like temperature-wise. Snakes are exotherms.

Anyway, having a sex-centric society and all the weird shit that entails has no bearing on the review. It was exactly as advertised.
Kissing her clit as a sign of respect is ridiculous, but this is smut!

However, they sex was repetitive and slowed the "plot" down significantly. If it was creative, I would probably feel differently.
At least add some s&m if you're just going to tease us with powerplay, then immediately saying "no! You can't make any decisions for me!"

The writing isn't the best and the FMC makes problems where there are none, and same for the MMC. It's a good laugh, it's entertaining, just don't look at it too closely.

I did have a few issues/questions about it. (Many spoilers ahead)

1. In once scene, FMC thinks a dress is pretty, so it must be handmade. How else is it going to be made, in this fantasy world with no technology?
2. The women are supposed to be "educated" in sex. Did we skip the chapter on safe sex and contraceptives? We have cream pies left and right with nary a concern. Does not one have a period here?
3. MMC says he doesn't mind sharing—multiple times. Guess who gets upset about sharing? Correct. MMC.
4. FMC doesn't want to take away the prince's agency. She then immediately makes a decision for him. And he was one of the only likeable characters.
5. Did they just fucking leave everyone to die in the dungeons?
6. Snakes don't have scales on their penises, why would these?
7. How is their population not huge? They fuck constantly.
8. Why is there a scene dedicated to telling her all the names for her vagina, then NEVER using any of them?

DID NOT FINISH

I like this book. It's hot. I just needed a little more plot. I'm still planning to give it a second chance though.
