How to Keep House While Drowning: A Gentle Approach to Cleaning and Organizing

I expected a different kind of book—a practical approach to home maintenance—so I don’t think I’m the target audience. That said, it was short and sweet with a few nuggets of wisdom that generalize beyond keeping house.
The thesis packs a punch as it is: I don’t exist to serve my space, my space exists to serve me.

Probably the most realistic/accessible self help book I’ve ever read. I didn’t learn a lot, but it was incredibly validating and reminded me to care about myself and future me more.

Good read. However, I feel this book is meant more for someone that is “struggling more.” At the same time, it was also nice to have some reminders.

I will be going out to buy a physical copy of this book to remind myself forever of how finding what works for me is the most important thing I can do for myself. Genuinely believe every person ever should read this, but more specifically anyone who deals with perfectionism and/or mental health struggles. Felt very realistic and provided good strategies tips.
This is THE book for anyone who is neurodivergent, disabled, grieving, a new parent, experiencing mental health struggles, or just generally going through a really rough patch and feeling overwhelmed. Basically, at some point in your life, this book will be for you, and not only do I recommend reading it, I recommend buying it and keeping it on hand as a helpful reminder and guide.
It breaks things down into manageable pieces, helps you deconstruct your judgements and helps you take care of yourself when you can't even process what that looks like.
A very kind person recommended this to me when I was going through a tough time and I'm passing it on.

Tone was good and some good tips. My favorite parts were the super concrete strategies (eg the five things in a room) and I wish there had been more of those. I understand that she didn’t want a prescriptive system but those concrete thinking tools helped.

I personally did not get much from this book as I tend to be a stress cleaner, but I definitely will be recommending this book to people who deserve their patterns and rhythms to feel normalized. KC does a great job at normalizing every day stress and what that can create, especially when someone's mental health may not be at its best.
Short, sweet, to the point. Solid advice and practical as well. I think I needed this, I know I needed this.
