I thought i would hate this book. I thought. I thought it world be another book from someone who had it all together and couldn't understand life with 5 kids. But KC Davis was really down to earth and made some great points. I enjoyed it

I really like the philosophical shift, just throwing out models that don’t make sense! “Embrace adaptive imperfection” and “care tasks are morally neutral” and “your space is meant to serve you” seem like simple concepts but feel revolutionary.

Small bits of advice for the neurodivergent individuals on self care and managing a household. I loved the way the author gave multiple examples and reframed concepts as morally neutral rather than self destructive rhetoric. The short chapters and images made it easy to pick up in small doses.

Someone with ADHD this book was extremely practical and helpful! The short chapters also helped me get through it faster and enjoy it more!
My only complaint is that there didn’t seem to be much planned flow between chapters.

This book made me feel so SEEN and human. I highly recommend it to anyone who struggles with mental health, ADHD, and/or PTSD/childhood trauma.
